Day Porter Janitor (Apartment Building – Day Shift)

Location: Seattle
Compensation: $20.76/hour
Schedule: Friday – Tuesday, 7:00 AM – 1:00 PM

Position Summary

We’re looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Day Porter Janitor to maintain the cleanliness and presentation of an apartment building’s common areas. This daytime role is essential to creating a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for residents and guests.

You’ll be a key part of the onsite team, working independently to ensure that shared spaces remain spotless, well-stocked, and presentable throughout the day.


Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain cleanliness of lobbies, hallways, elevators, stairwells, mailrooms, fitness centers, and restrooms

  • Clean and restock all common-area restrooms

  • Sweep, mop, vacuum, and dust high-traffic areas throughout the shift

  • Remove trash and recycling from common spaces and designated collection points

  • Spot-clean glass doors, windows, and mirrors

  • Monitor and clean exterior areas such as entrances, walkways, courtyards, and parking lots

  • Respond promptly to spills, trash overflow, or other cleaning needs

  • Assist with light cleaning in vacant units during move-ins/move-outs as needed

  • Report maintenance issues or safety concerns to property management

  • Represent the building with a courteous, professional presence in all resident and guest interactions


Qualifications

  • Prior experience in janitorial, porter, or general maintenance roles (residential or hospitality preferred)

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and handle physically demanding tasks

  • Comfortable using cleaning chemicals and equipment safely and correctly

  • High attention to detail and strong time-management skills

  • Friendly, professional, and service-focused demeanor

  • Self-motivated and capable of working independently
