Day Porter Janitor (Apartment Building – Day Shift)
Location: Seattle
Compensation: $20.76/hour
Schedule: Friday – Tuesday, 7:00 AM – 1:00 PM
Position Summary
We’re looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Day Porter Janitor to maintain the cleanliness and presentation of an apartment building’s common areas. This daytime role is essential to creating a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for residents and guests.
You’ll be a key part of the onsite team, working independently to ensure that shared spaces remain spotless, well-stocked, and presentable throughout the day.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain cleanliness of lobbies, hallways, elevators, stairwells, mailrooms, fitness centers, and restrooms
Clean and restock all common-area restrooms
Sweep, mop, vacuum, and dust high-traffic areas throughout the shift
Remove trash and recycling from common spaces and designated collection points
Spot-clean glass doors, windows, and mirrors
Monitor and clean exterior areas such as entrances, walkways, courtyards, and parking lots
Respond promptly to spills, trash overflow, or other cleaning needs
Assist with light cleaning in vacant units during move-ins/move-outs as needed
Report maintenance issues or safety concerns to property management
Represent the building with a courteous, professional presence in all resident and guest interactions
Qualifications
Prior experience in janitorial, porter, or general maintenance roles (residential or hospitality preferred)
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and handle physically demanding tasks
Comfortable using cleaning chemicals and equipment safely and correctly
High attention to detail and strong time-management skills
Friendly, professional, and service-focused demeanor
Self-motivated and capable of working independently
